Tom McIntyre, Chairman and CEO
Tom
was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan. He attended the Monroe Area
Catholic Schools including Monroe Catholic Central. He completed initial
education at Georgetown Preparatory School in North Bethesda, Maryland
in 1966. Subsequently he completed his B.S. in Economics at John Carroll
University in Cleveland, Ohio graduating in 1970.
Tom's initial career experiences were in the banking industry. Tom
served as an Intemational Account Officer at Manufacturers Hanover
Trust Company in New York for five years before relocating to Traverse
City, MI to take a position as a Commercial Loan Officer at Empire
National Bank. After four years Tom left the bank to found Passageways
Travel.
The Passageways story has been one of continuous growth. From a single
office in 1980, Passageways today operates offices across the state
of Michigan from Sault Ste. Marie in the north to Monroe in the south.
Passageways handles all aspects of travel management for clients across
the country.
Tom is very active in numerous Traverse City and northern Michigan
civic and philanthropic activities. These include the Traverse City
Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way, YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, Traverse
Symphony Orchestra, Midland Symphony Orchestra, American Red Cross,
Traverse City Rotary Club, Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools and
the Boards of Munson Healthcare and Traverse City State Bank.
Tom and his wife Sheila have five grown children. They enjoy traveling...and
invite you to join them on the next trip they host.
