Betsy
began her travel career in 1978 in the accounting department of Viktor
Weyand Travel. When that retail operation was purchased by Tom McIntyre
in 1980, Betsy literally was there at the creation of Passageways.
She was appointed Manager of Passageways main office in December of
1981 and has since continuously moved up accepting additional responsibilities.
She's handled leisure reservations, countless group movements, and
the design and implementation of numerous programs to meet corporate
customers diverse travel needs.
Betsy was named General Manager of Passageways in 1986 with responsibility
for the coordination of day-to-day operations across all branch offices. She
was promoted to Vice President in January of 1993 and in 1998 she was named
Executive Vice President & General Manager.
A native of Birmingham, Michigan, Betsy attended Northwestern Michigan
College's law enforcement program. She has volunteered in many local and
civic and private programs including attending Leadership Grand Traverse
training in 1999. She currently sits on the board of the Crooked Tree Girl
Scout Council. Betsy, her husband Mark, and daughter Lia live in Traverse
City.
