What is an e-ticket and how does it work?
E-tickets (short for Electronic Tickets) are now offered by most domestic
airlines. These tickets allow you to travel without a paper ticket,
thus eliminating the worry of leaving your tickets behind or losing
them. An e-ticket is simply an electronic entry in the airline's computer
reservation system and is identified by a specific e-ticket number.
When you buy e-tickets through this web site, you'll receive a confirmation
of your initial reservation via email and will receive an additional
confirmation with your your specific e-ticket number.
Most major airlines have phased out paper tickets in favor of the less
expensive and more convenient e-ticket.
How do I know my e-ticket will work once I'm at
the airport?
If you have a confirmation number from us you can be sure your e-ticket
will work when you show up at the airport. If this process is new to
you and you want to double-check, you can visit the website of the airline
on which you are ticketed and look up your reservation directly in their
computers. Another way to check that your reservation exists is to check
the website provided by Worldspan - the worldwide computer system that
handles our reservations. Visit www.mytripandmore.com
and enter your name and the confirmation number (trip locator code)
to view your detailed travel reservations.
What if I prefer a paper ticket?
If you want a paper ticket we are happy to oblige. However, you will
be asked to pay an extra fee to offset the costs of ticketing and delivering
a paper ticket. Contact a travel agent for details.
All airline reservations made on this site are issued as e-tickets.
Do e-tickets work on all airlines?
All airlines use e-tickets for the majority of their ticketing needs.
Some airlines have not yet adopted e-tickets and some international
itineraries require paper tickets. Our travel office will notify you
if paper tickets are required for your particular itinerary.
How will I be billed for my air tickets?
Your air tickets will be charged to the credit card that you enter
when completing your online purchase. You will see two separate charges
on your credit card statement when it arrives in the mail. One charge
will be from your travel agent and will be a small fee for processing
your reservation request. The other charge will be from the airline
company that issues your reservations. Both of these charges are disclosed
to you in detail before you complete the purchase process.
How will I receive the documents I need for my trip?
For flights, the only documents you will normally need for your trip
are the electronic confirmation numbers that we email to you when a
reservation is completed.
If you are making reservations for flights that require paper tickets,
or for cruises, tours or vacation packages, you will receive your travel
documents in the US mail in advance of your trip. The address on file
in your secure member database will be used.
